I have heard that meds for dogs are often ones that originally were made for humans. And that meds for dogs through the veterinarian’s office are more expensive than the same generic meds that are available at pharmacies for humans. My dog is prescribed Thyroxine for thyroid replacement. I’d love to know if I could take the prescription for this med from the vet to a pharmacy and get the same meds for a lower price.

I went to the Dr. yesterday and I have a huge Pituitary tumor. He said that we had to do some lab work to make sure my Thyroid level was normal, That if it wasn’t I would need to take medication to get it where it needs to be befor surgery. I guess it is not good to have surgery if the Thyroid is low or high.
