Update on Brayden- he got released?!?

This is mainly for my contacts and people that have followed what’s going on with my son.

He was put in the hospital last Thrusday because he was screaming, and had a high fever. They found out he had Meckles Diverticulum, and his intestines were wrapped around each other.

They did gastro intestinal surgery Saturday morning, which went well, he had his appendix removed, and had his intestines realigned. He came out with 32 stitches, and the doctor said they’ve corrected the problem successfully.

He got released from the hospital this morning, and is doing very well.

I’ve gotten tons of messages asking about him- so this was my little update!

Since I need a question- Has your newborn ever had an illness that scared you?

I need a “Scientific”! Review of Chlorophyll as a deodorizing agent. I do not trust advertising.?

I am a junior now and for some reason have suffered from bad body odor, the source of which i am unsure. Whatever is wrong with me it is not normal and I don’t think that any doctor i go to will have an answer because all they want to do is give out medication like they are trained to in medical school, most of which are funded by pharmaceutical companies. There is hype that Chlorophyll will deodorize the body, but many people refute this and say that it is a scam. They also say that most of the deodorization claims come from research done in the early 1900′s. I am desperate to cure my problem. I take showers well over 45 minutes long, my water bill is outrageous, i wear deoderant, i brush my teeth, i do everthing humanly possible to stop it but it won’t go away. I never had a problem before; it just hit me, but i did notice i had some gastro-intestinal irritation before all of this began around the beginning of my sophomore year. For this reason i think the smell might be coming from my colon, i desperately need help and have considered suicide because it is ruining my life! If you know anything that you can support with scientific knowlege PLEASE HELP ME!

Stomach Dysmotility?

Ive posted this before, but i havent found an answer to my problem yet. 2 Years ago my digestion went haywire… seemingly out of nowhere. I feel really bloated for AGES whenever i eat and after about 2 or3 hours i start to feel nauseous but i never vomit and i never have any pain its jsut REALLY uncomfortable. It lasts about 5 hours or as long as it takes for me to get hungry again; After 5 hours or so ill literally go from being bloated and uncomfortable to feeling fine and actually HUNGRY. Ive serious had every test done on my stomach, i had a gastro intestinal endsocopy, a colonscopy, i had a barium meal, ive had my pancreas checked, ive had my gall bladder checked for stones, ive had ultrasounds, CT scans, abdominal scans – the works. Ive taken to researching this myself and is it possible i have stomach dysmotility? The symptoms seem to fit. I thought i was gluten intolerant or lactose, but it happens when i eat ANYTHING. Someone please advise me?

Strange mysterious illness, have you ever heard/seen anything like this before?

Hi, thanks for reading. I’m 18 years old, and in my second year of university. I’m originally from New York, but I moved to the UK to complete my degree. I’ve always been rather sick, my entire life, I’ve felt like I’m just not fully well. In general, I don’t let this hinder me, but I have been found to have a few conditions. Mainly, I’ve been diagnosed with:

- A heart murmur
- Asthma
- An ‘incurable’ gastro-intestinal reflux

None of these things seem to have a serious effect on my life, but lately, I’ve been experiencing really strange signs of illness, and yet my doctor says that I have no outward symptoms of anything. I’m currently undergoing blood work, but can anyone tell me if you’ve heard of anything like this?

In the past week, I’ve felt:

- very lethargic; constant exhaustion
- shortness of breath
- loss of appetite to the point where I won’t eat more than a small sandwich or two per day, although I’ll constantly drink water/ vitamin water
- random bouts of extreme hunger followed by intestinal cramps, especially if I eat when experiencing hunger
- constant nausea and stomach pains, especially after I eat
- constant headaches
- lymph nodes that tend to swell whenever I don’t sleep enough (though sleeping ‘enough’ can be sleeping 16+ hours when I feel like this)
- feverish, and issues with temperature regulation, but no notably high fevers
- my ears and throat hurt (but nothing seems to be wrong, according to the doctor)
- constant dizziness and feelings of faintness
- acid reflux that can’t be helped with any medicine I’ve tried

Because I am currently in exam period (my exams start in about a week), I thought it might be due to something stress related, but I don’t really know what to do about it. I can’t seem to eat, and whatever I eat makes me feel even worse.

Also, my gastro-intestinal reflux has worsened since I arrived in the UK. I thought it may have been due to change of food-type, but since my arrival, I seem to have become progressively more and more ill.

Also, something really peculiar happened to me a day or two ago- I believe it’s called myoclonus (spastic twitching and jerking of some of your fingers). I couldn’t control it, and it wouldn’t stop. It was keeping me awake until around 6 in the morning- at which point it lessened to the point where I finally fell asleep, and it hasn’t occurred again since. I’m not sure if it’s related at all, but I figured I would mention it since the only time it’s ever occurred is when I’ve experienced these odd symptoms.

I did have a really severe stomach virus about five months ago that made my gastro-intestinal reflux worse than ever, and I feel like that may be linked to these symptoms since the biggest problem I have is in regards to pain when I consume food.

Thanks for any help you can give me- or any reference that might help me to find out what exactly is going on. Cheers :)
Please note, I do not believe this is contagious. I share food and drink with my friends on a regular basis and none of them have gotten ill from me, or had similar symptoms.

I’m on my way to a party Just found out that the host?

is planning a very spicy meal. I have packed a sandwich for myself. Am I wrong. Should I stay home.? I am a diabetic so I must eat at the time I am there. I am extremely allergic to hot spices. I get terrible sores in my mouth and eyes as well as gastro intestinal reaction. I know the host 35 yrs. he ignores this problem. My allergy is to an acid in peppers and tropical fruit. He often serves a pinneapple desert which I also cant have. Would you say anything/ what if other guests ask questions which of course they are rude to ask? any good answer without going tnto the medical details at the party? ty
